Here’s Ben Mesches’ Press Release:
Local Youth Music Advocate Modesto Sound Presents Teen Fest
Teen Fest Music Festival, Friday, August 5th, Martin Petersen Event Center
While Modesto Sound is known for providing inexpensive recording
solutions for teens in the Modesto area, it does much more as well.
The non-profit studio also strives to provide performance
opportunities for teenagers who lack the opportunity to play their
music around town. Teen Fest is the biggest concert they’ve planned
yet.
Many local teenagers wish that they had more opportunities to see
live music in Modesto. That’s the premise behind Teen Fest. Modesto
Sound wishes to provide the youth of Modesto with the opportunity to
see live music. There should be no need to go to Sacramento, Stockton,
or even San Francisco to catch a show.
The bands performing at Teen Fest are local to the Modesto area and
many of them recorded demo CDs at Modesto Sound. Performing at Teen
Fest will be The Josh Rosenblum Band, Bombs Overhead, Among Ashheaps
and Millionaires, Seph Hamilton, The Merry Nothings, Amelia Varni, and
Tyler Platt. The Josh Rosenblum Band plays blues based rock with such
finesse that they are a finalist in the Valley’s Got Talent Contest,
Bombs Overhead is a seasoned group that performs their own variety of
modern metal, Among Ashheaps and Millionaires plays high energy
pop-punk, Seph Hamilton performs broadway style pop, The Merry
Nothings are a budding indie group, Amelia Varni charms audiences with
her country-based pop, and Tyler Platt is known for his local acoustic
performances. The Josh Rosenblum Band and Seph Hamilton have also been
featured on Modesto Sound’s “Gem Splash 2” compilation CD.
There are some planned activities, such as a table to hang out and
string beads to make bracelets and key chains. Brenda Francis,
Modesto Sound’s Founder, has found the bead craft table to be a
popular activity for teens.
Teen Fest will take place on Friday, August 5th downtown at the
Martin Petersen Center, located at the corner of 12th and H. There is
a $5 suggested donation at the door.
