Modesto Sound is a non profit 501(c)(3) through a fiscal partnership with the Stanislaus Arts Council.

We empower youth to create artistic media and entertainment through access to technology and industry experts.

Teens pay $15 an hour to record and $20 a song to mix it, about half of what it would normally cost, and grants and donations pay the rest.

For example
A teen band records 3 songs
It takes them 4 hours @ $15 per hour = $60
There are 3 songs to mix @ $20 each = $60

The total the teen band would pay is $120

Actual costs are about $240. Donations and grants contribute $120 towards the demo.

So for every $120 that we receive in donations, a teen band can record a CD to empower them to be successful. They use these CDs to get work, apply for colleges, improve their overall sound and to raise money for equipment.

It is easy to participate! Here is a dozen ideas for how to be part of Modesto Sound's Teen Recording Effort.
